Our interviews were conducted by students from the University of Rochester and the Central Institute for Buddhist Studies in Leh, Ladakh.

Interview locations varied from indoors in homes, restaurants, and classrooms to several outdoor locations in small villages outside of Leh.

To assure shared ownership of and access to our research, the recorded oral histories are gradually being uploaded to UR Research, a permanent institutional repository provided by the University of Rochester River Campus Libraries. In accordance with accepted standards in the field of oral history, the interviews were recorded at a sampling rate of 44kHz/16-bit, and our master files will be uploaded to UR Research in an uncompressed (WAV) format. A brief project description and summary of methodology will also be included in the repository. Finally each interview is transcribed in Bhoti (written Ladakhi), with English translations to come.
